When do we collect information? What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our website?

We collect information from you when you place an order,  subscribe to a newsletter, or fill out a form on our site. If you book a course on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, phone number or other details to help us offer this service. If registering for our newsletter we will collect your Name and Email address. If applying for a grant or application, we will collect your name, address and relevant information to help us process your application.

Email

Emails that we send to you or you send to us may be retained as a record of contact and your email address stored for future use in accordance with our record retention schedule. If we need to email sensitive or confidential information to you, we will perform checks to verify the correct email address and may take additional security measures.

Mailing List

You can choose to subscribe to The Arab British Centre’s mailing list to receive news about our programme, courses, offers, and related events.

We use MailChimp as our marketing automation platform, using a best-practice “double opt-in” process. By subscribing to our mailing list you acknowledge that the information you provide will be transferred to MailChimp for processing in accordance with their privacy policy and terms. MailChimp collects and stores mailing list subscriptions in order to allow us to create and use distribution lists, send marketing email campaigns, and place online advertisements.

You can unsubscribe from the mailing list and future communications by following the links at the bottom of every email we send out via Mail Chimp. If we have contacted you in the past and you have explicitly told us that you don’t want to receive marketing communications from us, we will keep your name and address on a list of people we don’t contact. If you would prefer for your information to be deleted from that list, please let us know using the contact details at the bottom of this page.

Social Sharing

We use Google Analytics to track social shares made at our website.
